Sylvester Johnson is the Senior Director and Head of Operations and Strategy for Home Depot Equipment Services (HDES) based in Atlanta, Georgia. He leads a team of 500+ field service professionals and support staff delivering light industrial electrical and mechanical solutions across the US and Canada including Guam, Puerto Rico, Alaska, and Hawaii.
With over 13 years at Home Depot, Sylvester has held various leadership roles, including store manager, district manager, director of operations for Home Services, director of Product Availability for all U.S. Retail Stores during COVID, and most recently, director of Strategic Projects for HDES.
Before joining Home Depot, Sylvester was the founder and president of Titan Commercial Services, Inc. and spent more than 12 years with Wal-Mart.
Sylvester serves on the Board of Directors for The Home Depot Homer Fund Management Board, a nonprofit charity that has provided over $165 million to more than 130,000 associates in need since its inception in 1999.
A decorated combat veteran and former U.S. Army captain, Sylvester served tours in Europe, Southwest Asia, and various U.S. locations. He is also a graduate of the U.S. Army Airborne School.
Sylvester holds a bachelor’s degree in computer science from Alabama Agricultural and Mechanical University, an MBA with a Leadership focus from Liberty University, Lean Six Sigma certificate from Villanova University, and Project Management certificate from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte.
